I bring to my work a wealth of legal experience, including service as a lawyer at a respected Salt Lake City law firm and legal counsel to one of the nation's largest corporations. With this broad legal experience, I can help businesses with their contracts and other transactions, and assist individuals in a wide range of legal matters.
I serve clients in three important practice areas: (1) business law, with emphasis on contracts, private financing, and new business formation; (2) oil and gas law, with emphasis on related contracts; and (3) estate planning and probate.
I began my legal career as a lawyer for a prominent Salt Lake City firm, then served as legal counsel to Phillips Petroleum Company at its U.S. headquarters in Oklahoma, where I had responsibilities for corporate law, antitrust, and securities; and later at its office in London, England, where I was responsible for legal matters in connection with the Company's business operations in Europe and Africa. I enjoy working with clients to help them learn how they can actively participate in dealing with legal issues and resolving legal problems.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and my law degree from Brigham Young University.
I am engaged in service to the community through my church and other charitable and civic organizations. I am married to Lana Youngberg, and we are the parents of four children and the grandparents of three.
